To be honest, he didn't know why he was indulging. From the moment his eyes caught hers on the stairs to his apartment, he'd felt drawn in. They'd lingered on her and moved back to her over and over. But nothing really came of that. She barely paid him much attention when they'd sat in his room talking to Clary.
Until he'd gotten angry at Clary for throwing away something that was potentially precious. And he'd gotten angry. Angry because people always seemed so... ungrateful for what they had. They never realized how good they had it. Clary was certainly one of those people. Someone that pushed him enough to explode about a past he'd rather forget, only to have the blue eyed angel speak up in his defense.
"I'm glad he contacted me as well." Because it meant she was still alive. That fact felt more than a little important to him. "I'm glad to know my house call earned a little trust. Or rather, my name in the 'do not stab' column. It's a good place to be." Smirking just a little, he fought that impulse to kiss her hair. No matter how familiar they seemed to be right then.
Then her saying she hoped it wasn't habit got a smirk to pull at his lips. Gently nudging her knee with his knuckles, his feline eyes gleamed. "No. Not just habit. In fact, there are few girls I would do that for. The other two are like sisters to me."
Shifting a little so one foot was on the ground and the other knee to the floor, he sat back on his heel and crossed his arms over the knee. His keen gaze flicked to the growing blush before he inclined his head. "That is the plan." He could have more time with her.. while also making sure she stayed safe.
